• 88 percent of cardiac arrests occur at home which means the life you save by knowing CPR is likely to be someone close to you -- a child, a spouse, a parent or a friend.

HANDS-ONLY CPR: LEARN IN MINUTES BY WATCHING THIS FREE VIDEO:

 

Hands-only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. You can learn the basics of hands-only CPR in a brief online video from the American Heart Association. The AHA has determined any attempt at CPR is better than no attempt and hands-only CPR has been shown to be as effective as conventional CPR with mouth-to-mouth in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest.

Regularly scheduled CPR, AED & First Aid certification classes at Darrington Fire District 24:

 

After you’ve learned hands-only CPR, AHA recommends you build your skills with a class. Darrington Fire District offers regularly scheduled CPR, first aid and AED (automated external defibrillator) training using the AHA Heartsaver curriculum. People who have had CPR training are more likely to give high-quality chest compressions and are more confident about their skills. 

 

The class includes certification for adult, child and infant CPR. Certification is good for two years. Students must be at least 12 years old. The cost is $30.
